Nina and John had a lovely small wedding at a restaurant in New York, complete with a surprise ceremony for their guests who knew they would be celebrating Nina and John’s marriage but didn’t know that it would actually be happening before their eyes. Before the party, they went around the South Street Seaport for some couples portraits, in spite of there being a bit of a chill in the air.
Sara & Glen’s wedding at the Guilford Yacht Club
Sara and Glen had their wedding at the Guilford Yacht Club in Connecticut which is a beautiful venue with spectacular views of the ocean. In spite of a slight threat of rain, we were able to take couple’s pictures outside on the big green lawn overlooking the harbor.
Kristina & Kieran’s Garden City Wedding
Kristina and Kieran seem to have good timing. They scored a spectacular spring day for their wedding at the Garden City Country Club. And they were able to take full advantage of the beautiful sunset light for portraits on the club’s lawn. But what really has me convinced of their luck with timing are the groomsmen and bridesmaid portraits. Those guys are jumping perfectly in synch and the bridesmaid’s flowers are so superbly aligned that they look to be hanging on strings. Or maybe it’s just skill. Either way we wish them luck and good timing throughout their lives together.
Amy and Harry’s Day After Shoot
Amy was April’s hair and make-up stylist at April and Chris’s wedding in Australia and when Craig mentioned that he wanted to do a post-wedding “trash the dress” sort of shoot, Amy jumped at the chance.
Shayna and Ofer’s Wedding
I love this couple. They are goofy, generous, warm-hearted, fun and really great dancers. You might remember Shayna and Ofer’s winter engagement shoot in Central Park. Well they tied the knot at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers surrounded by their friends and family
GLAAD Award – Outstanding Digital Journalism – Multimedia
You might remember a few months ago we mentioned that Aisha and Danielle’s wedding feature on ESSENCE.com was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Digital Journalism – Multimedia. Well the feature won and Aisha and Danielle were even able to help accept the award at the awards ceremony in New York. It’s one thing to have been nominated, but to have won is so exciting! Thanks to Bobbi Misick at ESSENCE and congratulations to all involved.
April and Chris’s Wedding in Sydney, Australia
April and Chris were married on short notice in the harbor-side suburb of Kirribilli with a grand total of 8 close friends and family members in attendance. Craig met April before the ceremony at the Establishment Hotel, a small boutique hotel where the super talented Amy Chan styled April’s hair and make-up.
Ann-Marie and Stephen’s Manhattan Wedding
This beautiful wedding started with a ceremony at Church of St. Monica in Manhattan, followed by pictures in Central Park, Grand Central and Times Square and a reception at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. It was a lovely sunny day and we ended up in Times Square with Ann Marie and Stephen just at dusk when the sky was still blue and the lights were at their brightest. I love going to Times Square with a couple. It can be overwhelmingly crowded, bright and loud but that’s the magic of Times Square. The lights create such a gorgeous dramatic backdrop, especially for a couple in wedding clothes. And you really can’t get more New York than this.
